I didn’t write a decent blog post this week, and here’s why:
- I was working on the new book.
- I was tired.
- I didn’t watch the State of the Union address, so I have no savvy political commentary.
- Don’t worry, I have it DVR’d.
- The kids were being cute.
- The kids were being cranky.
- I got distracted by something shiny.
- Rear Window was on BBC, and I have a policy of watching that movie whenever it’s on.
- Did I mention the new book?
- I don’t have anything cute to say about the iPad that hasn’t already been said.
- It’s too cold.
- I ate too many cookies.
- I didn’t have enough coffee.
- Space aliens took over my website as part of an effort at inter-galactic domination and they wouldn’t let me post.
- Okay, that last one wasn’t true.
- New book! Writing! Lots! Really!
- I couldn’t find my car keys. (The two-year-old took them. They were in the refrigerator.)
- I wasted too much time following interesting-looking links on Twitter.

- I was busy critiquing.
- I’m reading a really boring book and it’s taking up too much time but I’ve been a real slacker at book club lately and I think I need to step up my game this month.
- That last one was true.
- Sequel-writing took up too much time.
- I’m lazy.
- Lists are more fun!
